Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using Pricebird. By using the app, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Pricebird ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These terms are a legal agreement between you and Pricebird. We may update them at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Use of service

Pricebird is an AI item-identification and resale-inventory tool. You take or choose a photo of an item, and the App identifies it and estimates its resale value, then lets you track it in an inventory with cost basis, listing, and sale information.

You agree to:

  • Use the App only to identify and track items you own or are considering purchasing
  • Not reverse engineer, modify, or distribute the App
  • Not use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Not use the App to scrape, automate, or abuse the AI scanning service beyond normal personal use

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pricebird. If you are under 18, use the App with the knowledge of a parent or guardian.

3. AI-generated content disclaimer

Item identifications and price estimates are AI-generated suggestions, not guarantees.

  • The AI may misidentify an item's brand, model, or category — you can always edit the identified name before saving.
  • Estimated price ranges ("Est. $38–52") are estimates based on the photo and general market knowledge, not verified sold-transaction data.
  • Pricebird links to eBay's own sold-listings search so you can verify pricing yourself; Pricebird does not claim to have precise or complete sold-comp data.
  • The App does not provide authentication, appraisal, or professional valuation services; do not rely on it as the sole basis for high-value purchase or authentication decisions.
  • You are responsible for your own buy/sell decisions, including verifying authenticity and condition of any item.

4. Marketplace names & trademarks

Pricebird references third-party marketplaces (including eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, and Depop) by name only, to describe where you might list or sell an item. Pricebird is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these marketplaces. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos you submit and the inventory records you create. To provide the service, you grant Pricebird a limited license to process your photo — including sending it to our AI provider — solely to generate your scan result. You are responsible for the photos you submit: only scan items you have the right to photograph, and do not submit content that is illegal or infringes someone else's rights.

6. No account required

Pricebird does not use accounts or login. Your inventory data lives on your device; you can delete individual items at any time, or delete the App to remove all locally stored data.

7. Data & privacy

Your use of Pricebird is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In short: no account is required; your scanned photo is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a result and is not stored on our servers afterward; your saved inventory lives on your device; and we do not sell your data.

8. Subscriptions & payments

  • Pricebird offers a free tier: unlimited inventory tracking, cost-basis math, and CSV export, plus 5 AI scans per month — disclosed up front, never a hidden or silently-expiring trial.
  • Pricebird Pro ($6.99/month or $49.99/year) unlocks unlimited AI scans and comps. Inventory and profit tracking remain free whether or not you subscribe.
  • Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Pricebird is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of any item identification, price estimate, or comp count.
  • We are not liable for any purchase, sale, or pricing decision made based on the App.
  • We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, accidental deletion, app deletion, or circumstances beyond our control — since inventory data is stored locally, we cannot recover it if your device data is lost.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months.

You agree to use the App at your own risk.

10. Intellectual property

All content, features, and functionality of Pricebird — including text, graphics, logos, and software — are the property of Pricebird/Openverse and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. The photos you submit and the inventory records you create remain yours; we claim no ownership beyond the limited license needed to provide the service.

11. Changes to terms

We may revise these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated in the App. The "Last updated" date above indicates the latest revision. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
